What Interclick Does

Follow The Click Trail

About the clicks that carry people between websites — referral traffic, click paths, UTM tags and what the journey between sites reveals.

🧭

Referral Reports

Reading where visitors arrive from — and why so much traffic hides as 'direct'.

🏷️

UTM Tagging

Labeling your links so campaigns stay distinguishable — conventions that survive a team.

🛤️

Click Paths

The page-to-page journeys inside a visit: entry pages, common routes and where people drop.

🎯

Attribution Basics

First click, last click and multi-touch — what each model credits and what each one hides.

🔗

Link Placement

What makes an outbound link earn clicks — position, wording and context, tested honestly.

🤖

Filtering The Noise

Bots, prefetches and spam referrers — cleaning click data before drawing conclusions.

How Interclick Works

From signup to value in 3 steps

1

Tag your links

Label outbound campaign links consistently, so arrivals stay traceable to their source.

2

Read the referrers

Review where clicks actually come from, with bots and noise filtered out first.

3

Map the paths

Frequently Asked

What is referral traffic?

Visits that arrive by clicking a link on another site, as opposed to search, ads or typed addresses. The referrer tells you which site sent the click.

Why is so much traffic labeled 'direct'?

Because the referrer is often stripped — by apps, secure connections and messaging tools. Much 'direct' traffic is really shared links whose origin was lost, which tagging can recover.

Which attribution model is right?

None is true; each answers a different question. Last click shows what closed, first click shows what introduced. Pick per question, and use the same model when comparing.
